Lanreath Shop and Post Office

The Lanreath Shop and Post office was established in 2007 and, since then, has gone from strength to strength. It is a ‘not for profit’ enterprise owned by members of the community through nominal shareholdings and operated for the community by a paid manager and volunteer staff.

We stock a wide range of groceries and local produce including a daily supply of fresh bread, milk and eggs. You can order your local paper though us and we now stock a selection of alcoholic beverages including wine, ale and cider. Space is at a premium, so shelves are invariably tightly packed. The intention is to try to meet all the demands of customers, our lifeline, and the variety of stock is as comprehensive as space permits. Whilst we carry many national brands, we do make a point of promoting local produce.

Parking is available in the adjoining Punchbowl Inn car park with a disabled parking bay immediately adjacent to the shop.

There are 2 dog tethering hooks outside the shop, one at each end of the building.

Volunteers - We are always looking for new volunteers and currently need a couple of volunteers who are willing to cover the morning shift which finishes at 10.30 am.  Also, if anyone is able to spare couple of hours during the week to help fill the empty shelves, days and times to suit your availability.

Lanreath Community Shop and Post Office News.

We are now ordering from Barnecutts for delivery on a Tuesday and Friday. If you have specific requests, please contact Mick or Debbie. We will continue to have a delivery from Blake's Bakery on Thursdays.

As the weather gets colder, we have all you need to keep warm, firelighters, kindling and logs. The logs are supplied by Lanreath and Pelynt Young Farmers and all proceeds go to charity.

We have warmies too in the shape of cuddly toys. These are seed bags you warm up in the microwave. They can be used instead of a hot water bottle. So, no reason to be cold this winter!

Committee News Following our postal A.G.M. we have a new committee member and we would like to welcome Steve Bird to the committee. We really hope that next year we will be able to invite all shareholders to a normal A.G.M. whatever that may look like.
